The 2023 “Year in Review” Report provides a deep look into a year marked by substantial progress and impactful initiatives. Our unwavering commitment to fostering social enterprises across the Middle East and Africa is evident through successfully implementing programs like the second edition of the Asfari Challenge for Social Innovation (ACSI2), the Entrepreneurship Opportunities Network program (EON), the second cycle of the HerMeNow accelerator, and others. These programs have equipped diverse entrepreneurs with essential training, mentorship, and financial support, enhancing their business acumen and leadership skills.

In 2023, we received 375 applications from 27 countries; 121 went to the bootcamp stage, and 33 startups made it to the accelerator stage. Of these, 74% had at least one female in leadership positions. Bloom’s tailored programs addressed the unique needs of early-stage social enterprises in Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Tunisia, Syria, and other countries. The report highlights the transformative journey of these enterprises, from rigorous training sessions to impactful demo days.

As we reflect on a year of adaptation and resilience, the report underscores Bloom's pivotal role as a catalyst for positive change. Despite the challenges, we have continued to adapt our platform and methods to support innovation, digital transformation, and climate resilience. This resilience and adaptability have been key in highlighting Bloom's dedication to sustainable and inclusive growth, further solidifying our mission to create lasting economic and social impact in the regions it serves.
