Who we are

Bloom is a non-governmental initiative where the team comes from diverse communities and backgrounds, creating a community with strong ties. Bloom was founded in 2018, while being affiliated with a team that has been running entrepreneurship programs since 2008, and is currently running 5 programs supporting startups and accelerators across the Middle East & Africa, has more than 50 partners, and is growing. Bloom programs to help individuals, businesses, and accelerators create jobs and grow, while building a new training methodology and software to support startups, small and medium businesses, and entrepreneurship support programs. Many issues, including education, health, telecoms, financial inclusion, migration, sanitation, food/agriculture, conflict/crisis response, and more, are being handled throughout specific programs.

Job Brief

We are looking for an Events and Partnerships Coordinator to join our team! This person will be responsible for planning and executing partnership initiatives and events, including event creation, and speaker coordination, to increase the organization's outreach and impact in the MENA region, and providing support and resources to speakers, partners, and participants, addressing their needs and queries to ensure events deliver valuable insights and foster collaboration among participants. Our team is distributed across 6 countries, with primary programs currently in 9 countries across the MENA region. We’re looking for someone with experience in managing both the day-to-day operations as well as growth-oriented, cross-cultural teams that are remote/distributed, tech-enabled, and passionate about social impact on some of our world’s most difficult challenges, in difficult places.

Roles and Responsibilities

Program Deliverables

  1. Ecosystem Mapping: Lead partnership outreach and engagement efforts with other regional entrepreneurship support organizations and groups in the startup ecosystem to support a regional ecosystem mapping effort.
  2. Wellbeing@Work Learning Conference: Support event coordination, partner engagement, and outreach for the Wellbeing@Work Learning Conference in Beirut on September 29, 2023, for innovation support organizations, companies, and social impact organizations.
  3. Other Activities (primarily online): Support coordination and outreach efforts for other program events including the monthly regional ecosystem collaboration calls, regional networking efforts, and facilitate mixer events between enterprises and investors/funders to improve access to finance.
  4. Identify and invite influential speakers, experts, and thought leaders to participate in events.
  5. Manage logistics, budgets, and timelines for events to ensure their successful execution.
  6. Develop a brief Outreach Plan: Develop an outreach plan to effectively reach and engage with target audiences, including an approach to monitor and assess their impact.
  7. Plan, organize, and execute other events and activities related to the organization's and programs’ mission and goals (working with organization leadership to identify priority activities to execute within available time and resources).

Partnership Development

  1. Develop a brief Partnership Plan to guide work within available resources.
  2. Identify and cultivate partnerships with relevant organizations, institutions, and stakeholders that align with our mission and objectives.
  3. Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing partners, ensuring regular communication and engagement.
  4. Collaborate with internal teams to create comprehensive partnership strategies and business development proposals.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, marketing, international relations, etc.) or equivalent work experience.
  2. Proven experience in partnership development, outreach, or related roles.
  3. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  4. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  5. Knowledge of the innovation and support organization ecosystem is a plus.
